Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a server based reporting platform. It provides reporting functionality from a different data sources. It provides a set of tools to create, test, manage and deploy reports. It also provides APIs which gives developers to integrate / extend data and processing the report in custom application.
You can do following things with Reporting services:
· Create interactive, tabular, graphical or free-form reports from different data sources.
· Publish and schedule report processing.
· Create Ad-hoc report based on predefined models.
· Different viewing formats for a report.
· Export reports to other applications.
You can view reports created through Reporting services over a web-based, windows application or SharePoint sites.
