Copyright ,Trademark and Registered trademark symbols : How to type in MS Word

Sometimes what happens you are busy in creating documents for meeting, which is supposed to start with in short span of time and suddenly you realize that you have to enter some symbol into document and that symbol is not available in keyboard. So instead of scratching your head into MS word feature, you think better search on web. And you found various websites links. That is why you are reading this article.

So you are here for insertion of copyright, trademark and registered trademark symbol into a word document.

There are various ways you can insert these symbols in your word document.

      

1. Using symbol from Insert menu :

Click Insert tab on taskbar.

Locate the Symbol group. Click on the Symbol button, and a list of recently used symbols will appear. Selecting a symbol from that menu will place that symbol where your insertion cursor is located.

2. Using symbol window:

Insert -> Symbol-> More Symbols. It will open symbol window.

3. Using autocorrect for common symbols

File → Options → Proofing → AutoCorrect Options, then under the AutoCorrect tab, check the Replace text as you type box.

Now,

      Registered trade mark: Type (r) for ®

      Trademark: Type (tm) for ™

      Copyright: Type (c) for ©

4. Using keyboard shortcut

To insert the copyright symbol, press Ctrl+Alt+C  - ©

To insert the trademark symbol, press Ctrl+Alt+T - ™

To insert the registered trademark symbol, press Ctrl+Alt+R - ®
