In companies there are many servers having different categories. Some are development environment others are in testing environment and productions also.
If you are a DBA and working on different servers and urgently you have to do some changes and by mistake you did on other server because too many SSMs open in system and you are confused.
And if you are a developer you often works with different environment .you forgot and run scripts of testing environments to production environment by mistake. Because you have opened al l the SSMS together. And this will cost you heavily re-work.
SQL SERVER Management Studio 2008 provides special feature through which you can change the query editor status bar color while login. What you can do is you can set different colors for different environments and follow the query editor color while running the query.
